Activities of Daily Living Assessment
An ADL assessment is required to be completed when an injured worker is reporting limitations or difficulties with performing personal care and domestic tasks.
By performing tasks using unsafe and/or inappropriate techniques, the worker is regularly straining their injured area/s, ultimately delaying their recovery from their injury, which has a direct impact on their ability to achieve an early return to work.
The Occupational Therapist may recommend equipment to improve independence, or simply provide education in correct body mechanics for the performance of home tasks in order to minimise continued aggravation to the injured area.
