Pre Employment Assessment

A pre-employment assessment is an objective functional assessment of a person's ability to perform the essential physical demands of a job.

A tailored assessment assists employers to provide a safe working environment by ensuring their prospective employees are physically suited to the job. This ultimately will assist in reducing an employer's premiums associated with workplace injuries and lost time.

Pre-employment assessments are integral to a successful employee selection process. Coastal Physiotherapy is able to implement a standard functional screen provided by your organisation, or is able to tailor a pre-employment functional assessment to your organisations specific needs.

Testing is conducted by a qualified physiotherapist or occupational therapist.  Observations will be made in relation to the candidates safe ability to perform tasks (based on biomechanical ability and cardiovascular fitness) and recommendations can be provided for ongoing safe work practices (such as the need for manual handling training etc.) if requested.
