Clinical Pilates
Clinical Pilates is the application of Pilates by a specially qualified Physiotherapist.
Pilates is an exercise method which aims to improve core (mid-section) stability through the activation of specific muscle groups and correct posture. These exercises develop muscles which create a "brace-like" hold around the spine and pelvis, thus protecting the body from injury.
Clinical Pilates can be of benefit to people suffering from:
- back pain
- neck pain
- hip and groin injuries
- pre and post natal women
- poor posture
- people with no pain or injury for general wellness
Assessment
Following an initial 1:1 physiotherapy assessment and Clinical Pilates introduction, we usually recommend 2-3 further individual sessions to progress exercises and ensure correct technique before progressing to a group environment.
Group Classes
Group Pilates in a small group setting (2-3 people) is recommended and we are pleased to recommend Centre For Studio Pilates in Norval Court Maroochydore for matwork and pilates equipment sessions. The pilates instructors are certified and experienced instructors and maintain a close relationship with the Physiotherapist if additional injury management needs are required.
Private health fund rebates are available (depending on your personal level of cover).
